 Telugu Film Industry has added yet another historical feather to its crowded hat with its entry into 75 years. Telugu Film Industry is the most happening industry after Bollywood in India. It has got the record of making more number of movies in a year after Bollywood. The first talkie movie Bhakta Prahallada released in 1931 followed by a release of 80 films in the next 5 years. Telugu Film Industry has seen many great stars. Day 1: It was a great evening at Hyderabad convention center to see all veteran actors, actresses, present film celebrities under single umbrella. The celebrations started with reminiscence of Late Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (NTR) with the help of an animated film which attracted large class of audience. The guests at the inaugural function included Governor of the State Shri Rameshwar Thakur, Shri Ambareesh and Shri T Subba Rami Reddy. SP Balasubramaniam anchored the opening program.
The lamp was lit by thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) with the presence of Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Suhasini, Sumalatha, Nayanthara, etc. Senior film personalities like Akkineni Nageswar Rao, D.V.S. Raju, Director Viswanath, Producer Dr Ramanaidu, etc were felicitated for their successful efforts in making Telugu Film Industry as a most happening place. Singers gave a splendid performance taking over the show from there. Day 2: On the Second day Director K Raghavendra Rao, Bapu, Superstar Krishna and others were felicitated. K Raghavendra Rao, the mouna muni who used to never speak in public functions addressed the audience; Superstar Krishna addressing the crowd shared experiences of his long career in Telugu Cinema. Balakrishna has stolen the show by performing an episode as Suyodhana from the movie Dhana Veera Sura Karna.
Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarujuna, Pawan kalyan and other industry people attended the NTR exhibition which was arranged by NTR family members. Day 3: It happened in a typical Telugu movie style which ends up with action sequence. Some people in the industry are not involved in the TCV function from the beginning and they gave statements in papers against the people who were working for TCV function. The film nagar talk is it's all the effect of recent MAA elections result. Rajendra Prasad anchored the third day of the event. Honorable Chief Minister of state Dr. Y.S.Rajasekhar reddy made his presence as chief guest for the closing day. Old actress Anajali Devi and Dasari Narayana rao were felicitated initially.
Megastar Chiranjeevi was honored, where Megastar Chiranjeevi refused to accept the legendary felicitation as he felt that he is not on par with veteran actors and he said that he take this legendry award with his contemporary generation after 25 years. Later the organizers invited Mohanbabu for felicitation which he initially refused to come onto the dais and later declared that he is not accepting the felicitation. Few programs were shown for the audience. After a dance program Mohanbabu tried to get answer for few questions which include the difference between legend and celebrity, and stated that he was told that he will be felicitated as a celebrity rather as an Legend and questioned as 'Am I not a legend?' and raised few mistakes done by the organizing committee. Balakrishna, Nagarajuna performed for their songs. Chiranjeevi & Pawan Kalyan danced together for Shankardada MBBS song. Later during the ending ceremony organizers introduced Time Capsule box which will be opened in 2032 for 100 years of Telugu Cinema, and asked all the industry people to put their messages/visions in that, which will be opened in 100 years function. During the ending ceremony Megastar Chiranjeevi who is a committee member of TCV gave an emotional speech, by saying "We are one, we'll be one and we are all for you. We did one great album with all actors, actresses, artists and technicians to reiterate and show our unity. Please watch it, enjoy it and most importantly try to get the real message from it. Everyone from now on should work towards becoming one". And he also criticized pointing fingers at the organizers for small mistakes in that huge function, and he said he will surrender the legend felicitation award into time capsule and will take that during 100 years of Telugu Cinema Function with all the contemporary heroes of his generation. Chiranjeevi's speech received a huge round of applause from all audiences. "Who is not a legend here? Every one is hero for his house, but not for others. It's all happened because of Disti Dhosham for TCV. Its very big function organized by all young producers with help of seniors in the industry. I have been seeing Chiranjeevi past 32 years. I have never seen such an emotional speech from Chiranjeevi till now" says Dasari Narayan Rao during his vote of thanks speech. Bottom line is 'There will be no gigantic public event without criticism and mud slings on people who work for it'. Overall it's a great starting to the year 2007 with the grand success of platinum jubilee celebrations of Telugu Film Industry. |
