His father Paandu (Suman) is a loyal confidant of local mafia don Zakeer Bhai (Nazar). Even though Ajay never liked the system followed by his father, they had good emotions between them. Ajay now takes up the mission to eliminate the baddies who are responsible for his father’s death. Dubbing of Suman’s voice is not impressive. Subbaraju did well as sincere Police Officer. Ali as Michael Deva generated good amount of laughter. Brahmanandam is fine but his comedy track is not up to the mark. Nasser and Kota Srinivasa Rao as villains are adequate. Others chipped in. TECHNICAL ASPECTS Story - Screenplay & Direction: Story of the film revolves around Suman and Sumanth. First half deals with love episodes of hero and about his ambition of becoming an IAS Officer. Second half deals with father-son sentiment and revenge plot. Screenplay is bit down. Direction by debutant Raaj Adhitya is ok. Rather than on right script he concentrated more on action sequences. Other Departments: Music is mediocre. Couple of numbers is sounded good to listen. The re-recording is very good for action sequences. Dialogues lack punch in them. Photography is one word breath-taking in the film. Songs picturization is impressive. He is terrific in conceiving action sequences. Editing has to be crispier in first half. Stunts by Selva are excellent. Production values by SS Creations are decent. Analysis: First half of the movie is mediocre. Second half is ok which is overloaded with action sequences and with some twists. Suman and Sumanth’s performances as father and son are appreciable. Songs are bit dull but background music is effective. Debutant director Raaj Adithya is only succeeded in canning action sequences. The main positive points are photography by Sudhakar and stunts by Selva. Slow first half, average music and simple climax let the movie down. Director could not succeed in justifying the title Pourudu. Overall, it’s a run of the mill flick. |
