![]() About Our Rating Storyline: : Back in 1609 AD, Heir Princess of Udayghad Kingdom Mitravindha (Kajal Agarwal) falls in love with Kala Bhairava (RamCharan Teja) who is the Security chief of Udayghad Kingdom. SherKhan (SriHari) invades the Udayghad kingdom by deception with the help of DevGill resulting in the death of both Kala Bhairava and Mitravindha. The rest of the story is how the love couple fight against the evil and succeed in their love in the present generation. Ram Charan Teja has carried the movie superbly. He has done 100% justice to the Kala Bhairava role. While Chirutha showcased Ramcharan’s dances and fights capabilities, Magadheera depicts RamCharan acting skills. Dances by him are of first rate, Action sequences are done with lot of ease and energy, stunts such as bike racing, horse riding and sword fights are mind boggling. One wonders with his performance in Sherkhan confrontation Episode, he was terrific. Emotions are also good by him, comedy timing is ok. But he has to take care on the dialogue modulation in louder confrontation scenes. Kajal Agarwal did a splendid job, she was glamorous as princess and also convinced the audience with her matured performance. She was bubbly in the first half. Emotions by her are pleasing. Srihari as SherKhan has a tiny little role than what was expected, but that was tremendous work by him. His diction, dialogue modulation, matured performance, facial expressions, everything was spot-on. He was comic in the fisher man role in the present generation. Others: Devgill as main villain was crude in both generations, Rao Ramesh (Gamyam Fame) as aghora was breath taking, Sarath Babu, Sunil, Bramhanandam, Hema, Sunil and others chipped in. Story - Screenplay & Direction: Story is simple and is about re incarnation, its all about how a couple who had failed in love 400 years ago succeed in this generation. Screenplay is good, the reincarnation concept is handled in a convincing way, and one has to salute Rajamouli for his tremendous grip on commercial cinema. It was a technical brilliance. He was excellent in presenting his vision and dream in commercial Telugu format. The Flash back episodes back in 1609 was in Hollywood range, talk about the taking and presentation both were impeccable. Direction is great every 15 minutes has something in it to take the graph upwards. Kudos to Rajamouli. Hats off SIR for giving a wonderful cinema. Production values by Geetha Arts are of first rate, one has to thank Allu Aravindh for his dareness for spending such a huge money. Other Technicians:Music is Good, though Songs were better on tape, Dheera Dheera and Bangaru Kodipetta were splendid on screen. BGM is of top notch, especially in a scene where Charan killing 100 soldiers and Charan winning the horse race with Dev Gill. Art direction by Ravinder is pride for Indian cinema. Huge sets were erected resembling 16th century, Stunts and Action Sequences by Peter heins and Ram-Lakshman were great. The best work of all techinicians was from Cameraman Senthil Kumar, Color Grading, lighting everything was spot-on. Editing is ok, but a bit crispier would be great. Kudos to all technicians for giving us such a visual splendor. First half is a love story and is good, Bangaru Kodipetta song; Charan Horse riding scene and Interval bang are highlights. Second half is a visual splendor though Climax is a bit abrupt. Flash back episodes, Ram Charan Performance, Taking, BGM and Cinematography are the main highlights. But on the other side Kajal- Ram Charan emotional episodes in the second half appear a bit dragging. Direction is excellent. One has to salute Rajamouli for his vision and his command in presenting it in Telugu commercial format. I (Reviewer) personally feel we need to keep logics a side for these sought of stories and enjoy the technical brilliance of the movie. The movie has all the abilities to take Telugu Cinema to next level. Two thumps up from my side go and watch the Pride of Telugu Cinema Magadheera. PS: Rolling titles were a surprise package, nice to see all the technicians having a nice time. Related Links: Movie Gallery Working Stills Audio Release Chiru-Charan @ Audio Release |
